Memory for the JLPT
Memorize vocabulary, kanji, and grammar using spaced repetition β the science-backed upgrade to flashcards that puts facts in long-term memory.
Select the correct prefix to complete the sentence: ε½Όγγγ£γγγ¨γ―__ζ£γͺθ‘ηΊγ γ (What he did was a fraudulent/unjust act.)
Backed By Neuroscience
Four proven techniques that med students have used for decades to memorize thousands of facts. We bring the same science to JLPT prep.
Spaced Repetition
Review at the perfect moment β not too soon, not too late. We predict exactly when you're about to forget a word and schedule it for review. This strengthens your memory with minimal effort.
Active Recall
Flipping flashcards feels productive, but reading answers doesn't build memory β retrieving them does. MCQs force you to distinguish between similar grammar patterns, building the discrimination skill the JLPT actually tests.
Interleaving
Mix topics for deeper understanding. Rather than grinding through one category at a time, we intelligently mix vocabulary, kanji, and grammar. This forces your brain to make connections across topics.
Grammar Patterns
No more flipping through a textbook of grammar rules. We organize patterns by meaning β time, cause, contrast, degree β so you build intuition for when to use each one.
All Levels Covered
From N5 beginner to N1 advanced β cards tailored to each level's requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which JLPT levels are supported?
We're building decks for all five levels: N5 through N1. Each level includes vocabulary, kanji readings, and key grammar patterns tested on that level.
How is this different from Anki or WaniKani?
Community Anki decks are hit-or-miss β inconsistent quality, outdated content, and no curation. WaniKani focuses only on kanji. We cover vocabulary, kanji, and grammar in one place, with cards designed for active recall: you type answers from memory instead of self-grading.
When should I start using this?
Ideally 3-6 months before your exam, but even 4 weeks of consistent daily reviews makes a difference. The earlier you start, the more vocabulary you'll have locked in by test day.
How much time do I need per day?
Most users spend 15-20 minutes per day on their review sessions. Short, focused sessions work better than marathon cramming.
Is there a mobile app?
No app download needed. Visit cueprep.com on your phone and add it to your home screen for an app-like experience. Works offline after the first load.
